Porlanee Jeamsaksiri, WG’12

Porlanee Jeamsaksiri is a senior manager at AWR Lloyd, a natural resources and strategic industry consulting firm in Bangkok. She covers the metal and mining sector and works on delivering strategies for creating value for businesses. Prior to AWR Lloyd, She was AVP at Asia Plus Advisory for IPO and M&A advisory. Porlanee has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.E. from Thammasat University.

Shatetha Terdprisant, WG’97

Shatetha Terdprisant is a director and the managing partner of McKinsey in Thailand. Since joining McKinsey 1997, he has worked with clients in both the private and public sector across Asia and Middle East, focusing on setting up major transformation programs. Before McKinsey, Terdprisant worked for Sclumberger, managing SEISMIC projects in Europe and Asia Pacific. Terdprisant is also the chairman of the board for School of Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization set up to provide education to immigrant children at the border of Thailand and Myanmar.

Terdprisant holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.  He received a Fulbright scholarship to further his studies at the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his MBA.

Tipporn Laosunthara, WG’06

Tipporn Laosunthara, WG’06, is a partner at Saap Suanplu, a private company that manages Suanplu market and a portfolio of rental properties in central Bangkok. Previously, she was a vice president at Citi Private Bank in Singapore after spending four years with Citi’s Commercial Real Estate Structured Lending group in New York. Laosunthara received an MBA in finance and real estate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MSc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in economics with first-class honors and a gold medal from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.

Thanita Khomphatraporn, WG’98

Thanita Khomphatraporn, WG’98, is currently an executive director in management consulting and a practice leader in people and change service for KPMG Thailand. She has business practice both in the international and domestic arenas, as well as a firm academic background in business and management.

Khomphatraporn worked for a Japanese trading company after receiving her Bachelor degree in Economics from Osaka University in Japan. She went on to earn an MBA from the Wharton School in 1998. After graduation she began her career at Kasikorn Bank, having opportunities to work in both corporate and retail banking businesses. In 2002, Khomphatraporn became an executive vice president in business development and investor relations for Nation Multimedia Group and also a managing director at Media Pulse, a magazine publisher and an affiliated company of Nation Multimedia Group in Thailand. She also served as a consulting director of Hay Group Consulting (Thailand), before joining On Semiconductor as an Asia Regional Director in Human Capital Management.

Throughout her career, Khomphatraporn has developed both domestic and international expertise in strategic management, business development, sales, and marketing at leading international and domestic companies. She also has direct experience in banking, media and entertainment, manufacturing, and consulting industries. She has been an invited guest speaker at local and international seminars and at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Bangkok University. She was also a part-time lecturer at the College of Management, Mahidol University for both international and Thai programs on a number of topics.

Suchat Boonbanjerdsri, WG’85

Suchat Boonbanjerdsri, WG’85, is chairman of Knight Club Capital Asset Management Company, a company that acquires and manages distressed assets. He is also chairman of Practicum Engineering Co. Ltd., a company that provides design, fabrication and installation services on a variety of high precision and heavy equipment.

He serves as an independent director at Srithai Superware Pcl., Salee Printing Pcl., and General Engineering Pcl. as well as chairman of Thai Listed Companies Association’s Executive Development Program Foundation. Boonbanjerdsri was chairman of the board at Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT) Pcl. and vice chairman at Thailand Post Co.Ltd. He previously worked at Kasikorn Bank Pcl. Boonbanjerdsri holds an MBA in finance and marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his undergraduate degree in quantitative economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.

 

 

Sally Jutabha Michaels, WG’90

Sally Jutabha Michaels, WG’90, is a senior advisor at GMS Power Public Company in Bangkok. She holds an AB from Stanford University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to business school, Jutabha worked for Goldman Sachs in the firm’s New York and Los Angeles offices. In 1991, she started working in real estate development in Thailand, and, with her husband, David Michaels, W’84, launched GMS Power Public Co., Ltd. In 2003, Jutabha became an advisor to the Thai trade representative. In 2005, she was appointed advisor to the foreign minister of Thailand. She has served on the board of the Bangkok Patana International School and as a trustee of Phillips Exeter Academy.

Pridiyathorn Devakula, WG’70

Pridiyathorn Devakula is a renowned Thai economist and Deputy Prime Minster of Thailand. Previously, he served as Governor of the Bank of Thailand and as Minister of Finance.

From 1971 to 1990, he worked for the Thai Farmers Bank, where he rose through the ranks to become director and senior executive vice president. He then moved into government, first serving as official spokesman for the prime minister, then as Deputy Minister of Commerce and President of the Export-Import Bank of Thailand. He was appointed Governor of the Bank Of Thailand in 2001, a position he held until 2006. He holds several Royal Thai Orders and Decorations, including: Knight Grand Gordon (Special Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant; Grand Knight Gordon of the Most Nobel Order of the Crown of Thailand; and Grand Companion (Third Class, higher grade) of the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao.

Devakula holds a bachelor of economics with first-class honors from Thammasat University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds several honorary degrees.

Kris Nalamlieng, WG’01

Kris Nalamlieng is the founder and managing director of 2Spot Communications Company Limited, the leading character design studio in Thailand. Since 2004, 2Spot has become the fastest growing cartoon licensor in both traditional merchandising and digital content. It develops characters based on Thailand’s local talents, and the character brands such as Bloody Bunny are growing popularity around the world with representation in Japan, Europe, and Latin America.

Nalamlieng is also a founder of the mobile marketing company ARC Innovative, currently the leading platform for corporate SMS in Thailand. Nalamlieng previously worked in strategic consulting and telecommunication for AT Kearney. He is an active angel investor in the Thailand startup community, as well as chair of the Digital Content Association of Thailand, working to promote the new generations of entrepreneurs in digital and creative economies.

 

Dr. Kongkiat Opaswongkarn, WG’80

Dr. Kongkiat Opaswongkarn is CEO of Asia Plus Securities Plc., one of Thailand’s largest securities firms, providing full services including stock brokerage, investment banking, asset management, private equity and derivative products. He is also currently serving as a member of the Wharton Executive Board for Asia and a director for the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation.

He began his banking career at Kasikorn Bank in 1984, where he was involved in numerous roles such as retail marketing and investment banking. In 1998, Dr. Opaswongkarn helped initiate and head the research office of Baring Securities, producing Thai research products for institutional investors. He has played a key role in the development of Thailand’s capital markets, through his various responsibilities with a number of committees and boards, formerly serving as chairman of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organization, chairman of the Securities Analysts Association, CEO of Export-Import Bank of Thailand, and as a director in the investment committee of the government-sponsored SME Venture Capital.

In 1995, Dr. Opaswongkarn was selected by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as one of the Global Leaders for Tomorrow. The following year he was also recognized by Euromoney as one of their top fifty financial leaders for the 21st century.

Chompoopen Sirithorn, WG’07

Chompoopen Sirithorn is a fund manager at the Social Security Office, a government entity that provides social benefits to 12 million private employees in Thailand. She serves as a domestic equity manager on the investment team, which manages the Social Security Fund currently worth US$38 billion. Previously, she worked in risk management division with specialization in market risk. She has also been a visiting professor at NIDA Business School. Prior to working at the Social Security Office, Sirithorn served as a senior auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Financial Services group.

Sirithorn graduated with MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and BBA in Accounting (International Program) from Thammasat University with first-class honors. She is also a certified public accountant in Thailand.

Arweemas Sirisaengtaksin, WG’12

Arweemas Sirisaengtaksin currently oversees palm oil business in Indonesia for PTT Group, Thailand National Oil and Gas Company. Prior to attending Wharton to earn her MBA, Sirisaengtaksin worked with PTT Group in corporate finance. She has also worked in strategic planning and investing for PTT International. Sirisaengtaksin holds a bachelor in business administration with a major in international business and accounting; a bachelor in law, with major in public law; and an M.A. in business and managerial economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
